Origin of the Heart

The standing form Origin of the Heart consists of 24 movements—three in each of eight sections.  It is an advanced practice for a number of reasons: some of the movements are complicated; it is important to be very relaxed and synchronized and to do the movements very slowly; and if the practitioner is not able to merge with heaven and practice in the Sheng Zhen state, then the movements will be of limited benefit.  Usually this form is not recommended until someone has practiced Sheng Zhen for more than three years.

For the advanced practitioner, the movements of Origin of the Heart become an expression of a state of wholeness, of full integration of one’s heart and spirit, and the merging of self with the purest qi and love in the universe. Everything in the world returns to its original state, to oneness. When one finds true oneness, there are no words that adequately convey the experience of joy, peace, and love.

Those who want to learn Origin of the Heart need to do so in a workshop, personally taught by Master Li or Li Jing.  First, students should have a strong foundation in the basics of Sheng Zhen and have practiced for 2 or 3 years. (The video link or DVD are intended only for those who have already been instructed in the practice.)
